If you want a fish, go to Hannaford

We’re looking for a new

Way of being.

My colleague Jackie Salit

wrote about the U.S. Open

Men’s final where the fans allowed themselves

to applaud the performances, not the winner.

And after the match the “loser”

said he was a human being who makes mistakes

and can change.

This morning on the Battenkill

Bryan and I shared our love for the

river and the joy of being in it,

Reminding each other that its more,

Much more, than whether or not you “catch one”.

  1. We’re looking for a new
    Way of being

On a dark creepy dingy dirty path with lots of muck and mire
    We’re pitching a new
    Plowing a new
    Field
We’ve built a crazy patchwork quilt
    Hopefully
    Others will keep
