A Culture of Giving

We’ve got your back.

You can make a mistake

And not be hung out to dry.

You want to fish?

We’ll make it happen

and we’ll cheer you on.

You can tell me

It hurts when I put you down,

and be assured it will stop.

Our culture of giving

sustains

empowers

enriches.

Our culture of giving

Makes creativity

and risk taking

possible.

The Average

(A W.H. Auden poem shared by Warren Liebesman)

His peasant parents killed themselves with toil
To let their darling leave a stingy soil
For any of those smart professions which
Encourage shallow breathing, and growing rich.

The pressure of their fond ambition made
Their shy and country-loving child afraid
No sensible career was good enough,
Only a hero could deserve such love.

So here he was without maps or supplies,
A hundred miles from any decent town;
The desert glared into his blood-shot eyes;

The silence roared displeasure: looking down,
He saw the shadow of an Average Man
Attempting the Exceptional, and ran.

CARRY ON

Resistance Women.

Inspired by the story of women

Waging an underground fight against the Nazis

At great cost.

Enlightenment.

David Hume teaches that

Leading a positive, moral life

replaces religion and sustains us.

Much to absorb

Much to inspire.

Life has its tragedies;

And disappointments.

How could it not?

And we have the capacity to

Follow love, not anger and bitterness.

It’s our responsibility;

And it brings joy.
