Some people say I’m brave
as I live as best I can with
terminal cancer.
I don’t see it as bravery.
My motto is “dying but not done.”
Not done writing poetry,
Reaching out to friends,
Following events in the Ukraine.
Embracing and growing
closer to my wife Cathy.
More than bravery,
it requires discipline.
Not allowing anger at being ill.
to dominate my last days.
Brave?
I prefer to think of it as being human.
